AI-enabled qualitative analysis: Ethiopia TAPS law
Public health researchers and policy teams need reproducible ways to turn interview-rich field studies into actionable recommendations: the primary keyword for this post is AI-enabled qualitative analysis. The PLOS ONE study published July 31, 2026 found that Ethiopia’s Proclamation No. 1112/2019 mandates a 100% ban on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship at points of sale but that enforcement is weakened by structural, resource, and awareness gaps. According to the PLOS ONE study, researchers conducted 41 key informant interviews across 10 cities between December 9, 2022 and January 5, 2023 and analyzed transcripts in ATLAS.ti to surface themes about institutions, agendas, networks, socioeconomic factors, and ideas.
