AI Qualitative Analysis for Nursing Research

Nursing researchers and healthcare leaders often need to turn lengthy interview transcripts into evidence they can use for training, policy, and quality improvement. AI qualitative analysis for nursing research can accelerate that work, but useful outputs still depend on a clear research question, transparent methods, and careful interpretation. A November 5, 2026 study in PLOS ONE provides a focused example: researchers explored how nurse managers support registered nurses during clinical supervision in public hospitals in Lesotho. The study used eight face-to-face interviews, verbatim transcription, and thematic analysis. This article explains what the study found, how its qualitative method worked, and how AI-assisted analysis can help researchers organize similar healthcare datasets without replacing human judgment.
