Map Narratives Faster: qualitative analysis of social media narratives

Fast, reproducible qualitative analysis of social media narratives is now feasible. A June 30, 2026 PLoS ONE paper introduces ST-TAN, a RoBERTa-based Transformer that jointly models sentiment, topic and time on a 120, 000-sample Twitter Event Narrative Dataset, raising narrative-structure F1 to 0.87 and narrative integrity to 85.3%.
