Better Care: AI Qualitative Analysis for Healthcare

Healthcare researchers and nursing leaders often need to turn interview transcripts into evidence about staffing, supervision, training, and patient care. AI qualitative analysis for healthcare research can accelerate that work, but the analysis still needs a clear research question, transparent methods, and careful interpretation. The November 5, 2026 study in PLOS ONE, “Clinical supervision in public hospitals in Lesotho: Nurse managers’ support for registered nurses, ” provides a useful example. The study analyzed eight face-to-face interviews with nurse managers across eight public hospitals and identified three themes about supervisory responsibilities, support practices, and implementation challenges.
