What Evidano surfaced
The study analysed open-ended student evaluations of teaching from 22 courses taught by four faculty members over one academic year. A key distinction, how students framed women versus men instructors, was not evident in the team’s initial individual coding in Dedoose, nor when they coded in gender-based pairs. Through their thought partnership with Evidano, the authors identified those comparative distinctions, then revisited and confirmed them with their own researcher expertise.
